More information about us…
Truffles catering is family run by award winning chefs, husband & wife team, Martin & Geraldine McCann who also have a restaurant, guesthouse and coffee shop in Randalstown where you can sample their award winning cuisine.
Martin has over 25 years experience as a chef, starting straight after school and ever expanding his knowledge and expertise ever since. His culinary journey includes time spent in France, a 5 star restaurant in Australia, head banqueting chef in Galgorm Manor & the Templeton among many others. During this time Martin’s dedication and enthusiasm have enabled him to achieve many accreditations and awards. The limitless passion that is evident in all of his work has led him to return to university last year to get an honours degree within the field he has been devoted to since his teenage years.
Geraldine’s story is somewhat similar in that she also has over 25 years experience, however her forte lies within the pastry field. Continuing on from the top of her class in Home Economics at school, Geraldine went on to complete her qualifications in pastry and secured a job within the Templeton Hotel. Her long stint there, over 20 years, as head pastry chef came to an end when herself & Martin decided to follow the dream and open their own restaurant with all the relevant knowledge and experience and more. A few years ago Geraldine was head hunted by the local college to come and share her expertise and skills with the next generation of teenagers, passionate about pastry and baking. Her journey does not end there however, as most recently Geraldine has used all of her knowledge, passion, accumulated awards including NI Culinary Team, and endless amounts of experience to open a Tea Room that coincides with the restaurant & guesthouse and offers all the locals and passers-by in Randalstown the chance to taste all of her homemade delicacies.
